MAKING COFFEE

If you want coﬀee straight away:

1. Ignore the clock.

2. Press and release the e button – the e light will show in the display.

3. Shortly afterwards, coﬀee will start to drip into the carafe.

4. When it’s done, the hotplate will keep the carafe warm.

5. If you want to stop the coﬀee maker while it’s brewing, press the e button.

If you want coﬀee later (timed):

1. Set the clock to the correct time. Use the h and min buttons to set the correct time.

2. Set the timer to the time you want to start brewing.

a) Press and hold the T button .

b) Use the h and min buttons to set the time you want brewing to start.

3. If you don’t press either the h or min buttons within 5 seconds, the coﬀee maker will revert to

“normal”, and the current time will show. Press and hold the T button to start again.

4. When the time is programmed, release the T button then press the e button. The T icon will

appear in the display.

5. If you want to check the program time press and release the T button. The programmed time will

show for 3 seconds and then return to the time of day.

6. If you want to cancel the timer before brewing has started, press the e button.

7. If you want to stop the coﬀee maker while it’s brewing, press the e button.

KEEP WARM/AUTO SHUTOFF

1. The coﬀee maker will keep the coﬀee warm for about 40 minutes. P and 40:00 will be displayed and

will count down in 1 minute increments.

2. 40 minutes after brewing, the P icon will go out and the coﬀee maker will shut down and the time of

day will be displayed.

3. To wake the appliance, press any button.

4. If left for much more than an hour, chemical changes start to aﬀect the ﬂavour of the coﬀee. It’s best

to pour it away and make a fresh pot.

A QUICK CUP

If you want a quick cup of coﬀee before the brewing cycle has ﬁnished:

1. You can remove the carafe at any time. The non-drip valve will prevent coﬀee dripping on to the

hotplate.

2. To prevent the ﬁlter holder overﬂowing, replace the carafe on the hotplate within about 20 seconds.

3. When you replace the carafe on the hotplate the non-drip valve opens to let any remaining coﬀee

through.

HOLIDAYS

If you haven’t used the coﬀee maker for a few days, empty and rinse out the ﬁlter and holder.

Before using the BRITA water ﬁlter again take out the cartridge, clean the water tank and funnel thoroughly

and repeat the steps decribed under “PREPARING THE FILTER CARTRIDGE “.

NOTE

Don’t be tempted to reheat coﬀee in the appliance. You’ll damage the appliance and the coﬀee will be

undrinkable.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the ﬁlter holder and carafe after each use. Residue from a previous brew will spoil your coﬀee.

1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool.

2. Tip the contents of the ﬁlter holder into the bin.

3. You may clean the carafe, permanent ﬁlter, and ﬁlter holder in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly

afterwards to remove all traces of soap.

4. Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
